Dear Recipient's Title and Name:
I am writing to you as your constituent and member of the nonpublic school community.
Thank you for the proposed increase for nonpublic school funding in your budget, we are grateful for your support of ALL New York's students.
Unfortunately, there is still a great need for increased security in our schools, with hate crimes across our state continuing to rise. We ask that New York step up and increase security funding to $90 million in the final budget to help keep our children safe while they learn.
In addition, our children deserve access, and the support needed for high-quality, equitable education - therefore, we ask that the final FY 26 Budget reflects:
- Increasing the current STEM program to $90 million
- Increasing the Arts & Music program to $7.5 million
- The passage of ‘Universal Free Meals’ in the final budget, as proposed by the Governor, House and Senate.
New York State has made major strides in providing EVERY child the environment needed to succeed – regardless of where they go to school. However, there is still more to do. I implore you to take the action needed to support our students.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
