An internet video produced under the name “Israelis for Obama” is circulating. Among the footage of various Israelis speaking in support of Barack Obama’s candidacy, the video contains footage from a previously broadcast Israeli news broadcast in which OU/IPA director Nathan Diament is shown (although not heard speaking). The footage and identification may mislead some viewers to think that the OU or Nathan Diament are endorsing Barack Obama for president. This is not the case. The OU is a tax-exempt, non-partisan organization and does not endorse or oppose candidates for elective office. As the OU/IPA’s director, Nathan Diament does not endorse or oppose candidates for elective office. The OU/IPA encourages all its members to study the issues and candidates’ positions carefully and vote in an informed and intelligent fashion in this critical election.
