It is with sorrow that the Orthodox Union mourns the loss of Cardinal John O’Connor, Archbishop of New York, a man whose life was dedicated to uniting the religious communities of New York and inspiring the belief in God and religion. He will be remembered for his undying commitment to his followers and his unyielding belief in humanity.

The legacy of Cardinal O’Connor will manifest itself as the ideals he espoused are embraced by those whose lives he touched.
