The US Ambassador is here

At a time when Jerusalem’s future as a united, Jewishly governed city is in doubt, we were pleased to see this report in Hamodia (no webpage tolink to) that the US Ambassador to Israel, Richard Jones, visited Jerusalem the other day, touring Mea Shearim and surrounding neighborhoods, including the Belz World Center.

He also called upon the rabbinical leadership, including the Toldos Aharon Rebbe and the dean of the famed Mirrer Yeshiva, Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, himself an American citizen (and we believe a Chicago native) and discussed, among other issues, the visa hurdles many students find themselves jumping through.

The courtesy and respect shown to Jerusalem’s religious leadership is a credit to the American spirit.
