Worth a Read: School Choice, Observed

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Page weighs in on Sol Roth’s recent piece in City Journal on school choice. We think they hit the point exactly: school choice doesn’t exist to improve public schools; it exists to help children. If a by product is better public schools, that is a great side benefit. Jason Riley, the author of the editorial, points to several studies on both the Milwaukee voucher program, as well as from Florida’s A+ program that indicates this is so. But in the end, the students who are doing better are still doing better, and that should be what everyone truly worries about. For the full piece click here.
