Today, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (the Orthodox Union) welcomed the decision of House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Howard Berman to move the Iran Refined Petroleum Sanctions Act (H.R. 2194) forward by scheduling a committee markup on the bill for October 28.

Nathan J. Diament, Director of Public Policy, stated:

With Iran becoming an ever-increasing threat to the United States, Israel and the global community, it is imperative that we take concrete steps to thwart Iran’s aims. We commend Chairman Berman for taking action on this important legislation.
