This year, the UN has participated in a lot of anti-Israel activity, and you can help change the UN by telling your Senator to support the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act of 2011 (S 1848), introduced by Florida Senator Marco Rubio as companion legislation to a similar bill already in committee in the House (HR 2829).
Senator Rubio is advocating for voluntarily financial contributions to the most efficient and worthwhile sectors of the UN, as is currently done with UNICEF. In other words, this prevents the US from inadvertently funding activities with which it fundamentally disagrees, such as the anti-Semitic Durban Conference, or the flawed Goldstone Report from the Human Rights Council.
Since this bill only has three cosponsors, we are urging you to call or email your Senator to ask him/her to cosponsor this piece of legislation, especially since the House version has already garnered significant support.
