Nathan J. Diament


Executive Director
Nathan Diament is the Executive Director of Public Policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America – the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization.  In this role, Mr. Diament has led the Orthodox Union’s political and policy advocacy division for more than 25 years.  
A graduate of Yeshiva University and the Harvard Law School, Mr. Diament has worked on a bipartisan basis on a range of issues of concern to the Jewish community including U.S.-Israel relations, religious liberty, education policy, combatting Antisemitism, and more.  He has testified before Congressional committees on multiple occasions and has had a hand in crafting and passing many pieces of federal legislation including the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the creation of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, the Federal Disaster Assistance Fairness Act and more.  
 
In 2009, President Obama appointed Mr. Diament to serve as one of 25 members of the White House Advisory Committee on Faith Based Initiatives, and in 2017 the Secretary of Homeland Security appointed Diament to serve on a Task Force for Combatting Faith-Targeted Violence.
 
Mr. Diament has also advanced the Orthodox community’s agenda in the media; he has appeared on all the major broadcast outlets and his writing has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times, and more.
