Dear Recipient's Title and Name:
On behalf of over 150,000 non-public school students in New Jersey, I respectfully urge you to provide parity in funding for the line items of security, nursing, technology and textbooks for our children in the state's budget for fiscal year 2016-2017.
Currently, each non-public school student receives $198 from the state for educational programs and services, far below the $20,000 average cost per public school student funded by New Jersey taxpayers. These programs are crucial for our children's education, but the current funding level isn't enough to provide sufficient security for our children during these very dangerous times. The current allocation also fails to provide adequate nursing care, technology equipment and textbooks necessary for our children to succeed.
Without the requested funding, our schools and communities can't afford these much-needed items, leaving our children without adequate security protection and other services they need.
We therefore ask that parity for non-public school student. All children deserve to be in a safe and secure environment and receive sufficient services so they can thrive at school and the world at large, regardless of the type of school they attend.
To keep pace with growing costs, we request that the state increase the fiscal 2016-17 budget for security, nursing aid, technology equipment and textbooks.
Thank you in advance for your support to ensure equality for the safety and success of all of New Jersey's schoolchildren.
Sincerely,
Your Full Name
